Do you want help transforming your ICED11 paper into high-quality journal publication ? Consider attending the 2nd Workshop to Foster Publication in Engineering Design, again organised by the G-SCOP Research Centre. This event is endorsed by the Design Society and the French GOSPI Research Cluster.
This workshop is a follow-up of the first workshop in 2011 which has been very successful (7 editors-in-chief present, 41 researchers from 10 countries and 36 papers accepted).
The concept of the workshop is to gather around a table one editor and the authors of 4 to 6 papers in order to discuss the quality of their publications and suggest ways of improvement. During these small group sessions, the editors act as advisers. The authors act as reviewers for the papers of the other participants.
For authors, the main benefit of attending the workshop is the constructive feedback they will receive on their papers. From there, they should be able to rework their papers for direct submission to a journal through the regular review process.
8 editors of the following journals have already agreed to attend the workshop :
CoDesign (Taylor and Francis), Janet McDonnell (Editor in Chief)
Computers in Industry (Elsevier), Harinder S. Jagdev (Co-Editor in Chief)
Design Studies (Elsevier), Norbert Roozenburg (Associate Editor)
Journal of Design Research (Inderscience), Ina Klaasen (Editor in Chief)
Journal of Engineering Design (Taylor and Francis), Steve Culley (Associate Editor)
Journal of Mechanical Design (ASME), Bernard Yannou (Associate Editor)
Research in Engineering Design (Springer), Petra Badke-Schaub (Area Editor)
Technovation (Elsevier), Jonathan Linton (Editor in Chief)
This workshop would be also an opportunity to the two research communities working in field of Design (Engineering Science and Product Development Management Science) to share the points of view.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Grenoble.
Marie-Anne Le Dain (Associate Professor, G-SCOP Lab), Jean-François Boujut (Professor, G-SCOP Lab) and Chris Mac Mahon (President of the Design Society, University of Bath) The Organising Committee Chair
